Let me first say, this was my first documentary type session back in the Spring of 2016. I jumped right into it and shot for 12 hours. I arrived at 7:30 a.m. and did not leave until after dessert time. It was a long day but boy did I have fun. Luckily - this amazing family and I have been friends for many years so I was very comfortable being in their home for such a long amount of time. This was the session that drove my passion for this type of photography.
There was something about documenting a families everyday life that I completely fell in love with. Not once did I get bored, tired, or disinterested in documenting their story. There were so many moments to capture and I think I did a great job showing the love that this family has for one another. Some of these images just seem like anyone's "typical day" but to this family - this is something special.
Throughout the day, we did a variety of things which allowed so many moments to happen. We started with breakfast & food shopping, and then a picnic in the park with some time to play on the jungle gym. We headed home and took a walk around the block while the little one napped and then played outside for some time. Homemade pizza's were on the menu for dinner and after it was bath time and dessert. This is a typical Sunday for this family and now, when the girls are grown and are out doing their own things, these images will be a reminder of how they spent their Sunday's in 2016.
