Ok...let's start by saying this was the first time I've ever photographed another photographer's family. Of course I was a little nervous, but the second I walked into their home, I was welcomes with hugs and smiles and I knew it was going to be a fun morning. Both girls clearly were not shy nor did they really even notice I was there. I guess when mom is also a photographer, they are used to the camera (major bonus!)
First up for our morning was making pancakes for breakfast. I love how, as a family, everyone had a little something to do. The family dynamic in each household is so different and I love that I am able to capture these memories for families. Pancakes seemed like a pretty regular thing in this house so these images will evoke such emotion in years to come!
Next up was a little reading, jumping on the beds, playing, and of course being silly! These two little girls were total opposites yet so similar. Since I am spending more than 30 min. with a family, I am able to really see how siblings interact and how each one brings so much joy and love to the family.
And I think the best thing about this session was after I put my camera away, I sat and chatted with mom for about 40 min. on the front porch while Dad and the girls took the bikes out for a ride. I love being able to connect with people. We had a lot to chat about since we are both photographers but it's so nice to just relax, and form relationships with my clients. I know I will be seeing this family again soon and I just can't wait!
But until now - please enjoy a morning in Bergen County with two ADORABLE little girls and two pretty awesome parents!
