Happy New Year Everyone!

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Years Eve and here's to wishing you a healthy, happy and successful year. Here at Shannon Mulligan Photography, I feel 2014 is going to be an amazing year. 2013 brought me a ton of happiness, lots of learning experiences, and the joy of meeting new people. I've been very blessed to be able to capture so many lovely families this past year and I can't wait to capture even more this year.

I've heard that sharing your goals and dreams with family, friends, old and new clients, and clients I have not yet met leaves you more accountable to achieve them. So, I am going to put it all out there so each and every one of you can hold me to my word! I have business and personal goals to share with you all, so please grab a cup of coffee and enjoy my goals and dreams for the upcoming year.

Blogging:

Blogging is a great way for me to share:  the sessions I've held, ideas I have brewing, upcoming events, promotions and some insight to my personal life. In 2014, I'd like to create more of a story with each of my blogs. I want you to really feel like you were there with me, feel the emotions I felt, see what I saw. Weather it was a newborn session where mom and dad were just beaming with love, or a trip through a vineyard and wine tasting. Pictures tell a story in themselves; so I am hoping to communicate stories to you through my photography.

I am also going to have some reoccurring blog's like "What to Wear Wednesday", "Food for Thought Friday's" and "Get to Know Me" posts. These will happen monthly so keep your eyes open for them to post! I'd love for you to comment, share and/or Pin my posts! Let's connect!

Pricing:

I will start offering NEW print packages this spring! You will get to pick and choose which photos you'd like printed and once they arrive at your home, all you'll need to do is frame and hang up your new works of art!

I am also in the process of setting up some al a carte items, such as accordion photo books, mini accordion photo books, and customized birth announcements and holiday cards. Keep an eye out for the announcement for these new products offered through Shannon Mulligan Photography.

Session pricing and High-Resolution Disk prices are remaining the same!!!

Sessions:

Sessions are pretty much staying the same. Customization and personalization are two main focuses for me in 2014. Once you book a session; I will use all resources to create the perfect session for you and your family. We will work together on location, props and wardrobe ideas. If you need some inspiration on things I love; you can follow me on Pintrest to get a sense of who I am!

I am going to hold two, possibly three mini sessions this year so please be on the lookout in the next few months for the first sessions details (think flowers, sunshine and Mother's Day!)

I recently started offering Cake Smash sessions; which can be completely customizable to your little one's liking! Cake Smash sessions are great for first birthdays! Contact me and we can chat about setting one up!

A few more goals:

Keep my business nice and organized

Interact with my FB Fan friends so I get to know you all a little more

Grow my prop collection

And lastly---book lots and lots and lots of sessions!

I also have some Personal Goals that will intertwine with my Business Goals....

I want to travel more, even if it's just through the great state of New Jersey. I think being familiar with your local surrounding and knowing where you come from will help me grow both personally and within my business. Traveling around will allow me to find new possible shoot locations, practice shooting in different locations, get a feel for what other parts of my state offer, and of course; allow me to see things I might have missed if I were just sitting home!

I am also going to learn to sew. My first sewing class is tomorrow night and I can't wait! I hope to learn how to make banners, bunting, fabric garlands, newborn headbands and all sorts of fun things that can bring a personal touch to your customized sessions. We can chat about some personalized goodies once your session is booked and we are in the planning phase!

My goal for books to be read in 2014 is 24; some photography and posing books will be within the mix but I do love a juicy love story by Nicholas Sparks and a superior drama by Jodi Picoult. I am also going to learn yoga. I believe the relaxation of your mind and body will help with my everyday life (as well as help with the flexibility some of us photographers have to achieve to get that perfect shot).

And lastly---I'd like to incorporate at least two days of meatless meals into my menu planning. My husband and I love to cook; so this won't be too hard of a task....it will just take a little planning. Meatless meals will also help me think outside the box for some awesome food photography shoots for my "Food for Thought Friday's".

This is by far the longest post I have written to date; but it's a new year, and new things are on the horizon so I wanted to share them all with you. I hope you were able to read through this and get a sense of what Shannon Mulligan Photography will be offering in the next year. I can't wait to make this an amazingly fun successful year! Here's to you, and here's to me....Happy 2014!
