By now, you all know I am a huge advocate of printing images. I have ALWAYS printed my images in one way or another. I have canvases hanging on my walls, albums all over my house and prints that I can flip through. Tangible images are sooo important to me. I don't want my images sitting on my hard drive so when my laptop crashes, I lose everything. Not my idea of a good time. Today, I wanted to share with you the newest way I am printing and displaying my images.
My last professional photo album created was my wedding album. That dates back to 2008. Now that does not mean I don't have other albums laying around the house. I do love my Chatbooks albums that print every image I post on Instagram, in little paperback books of 60 images. I have 15+ volumes by now and I love flipping through them. I display them in the living room so other's can take a peek into them as well. I have also created albums through Picaboo and Shutterfly from trips to big events to everyday outings.
This past fall, my husband and I went out and traveled around the PNW and I hired a photographer to photograph us in Tacoma, Washington. Jaquilyn Shumate Photography was AMAZING! I have one of the images hanging above our doorway, a 30x40 canvas of us standing amongst these beautiful pine trees. The image makes me smile every time I walk past it. I wanted to do more with the images though, sooo....while at a photo retreat this past winter, Kirsten Lewis mentioned an album company she works with and I just feel in love with them. The albums are casual but so professional. They make perfect coffee table albums with the best paper choices around. I love the texture of the album as well at the matte pages that really bring the images to life and allow me and my husband to flip through it remembering the amazing moments captured from that trip out to the PNW.
I really wanted to share the album with you so I snapped some pictures from the time it arrived until it found its new home, on our new custom Seward Truck in our newly furnished sunroom (THANK YOU Furniture Rescues and Nouvelle Vie Furniture). I hope you enjoy and I hope YOU start thinking about ways to print your images. There is nothing better than sitting down with a cup of coffee (or wine!) and flipping through a photo album! I promise it will bring a smile to your face!
